The Gunnison River has whitewater sections for every level of rafter due to its size of running through half of the state. Rafters can experience a spectrum of Classes I–V rapids.
The most popular whitewater rafting section of the Gunnison River is the Gunnison Town Run, which as you guessed it from its name, it flows right through the town. It is for mellow rafters looking for Class I-II rapids. You will experience mountain scenery conveniently located near Gunnison and Crested Butte.
